CenterSouthwire Job DescriptionJob Summary/Objective:We are seeking
a Development Engineer who will support the growth initiatives
ofSouthwire in the Industrial/OEM market segment. Under limited
direction, thesuccessful candidate will perform a variety of
complex engineering assignmentsrequiring in-depth knowledge of
electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineering. TheCandidate
will function as a Core Team Leader/Project Manager leading a team
ofdiverse experiences and disciplines such as Product Management,
Operations,Certification and Test labs towards the successful
design, manufacturing, andcommercialization of new products. The
candidate shall adhere to and follow a StageGate development
process to ensure that products are well designed and
manufacturedaccording to the highest standard of safety, quality,
and regulatory codes. Theindividual will proactively seek and
implement initiatives to improve operations andincrease customer
satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesFunction as principal investigator
or lead a group of engineers investigating problems,developing
solutions, and preparing related recommendations and reports.
ExecuteResearch & Development projects including planning, timeline
forecast, budgetmanagement, logistics coordination using the "Stage
Gate" process.Collaborate with different partners within and
outside the corporation. For example,manufacturing plants, test
laboratories, customers, vendors, consultants, contractors,etc.Lead
projects with autonomy and personal accountability in a very
fast-paced, time andbudget-constrained environment.Manage multiple
complex projects in parallel to timely completion.Take initiative
to recommend projects, product improvements, or cost
reductions.Represent the group in meetings and conferences;
interact with customers to providetraining seminars as well as
resolve significant technical issues and develop relatedaction
plans.Make formal technical presentations to customers and to
industry forums and atconferences.As required, be responsible for
technical direction and minor administrative guidance of a small
group of engineers and assistants. Support manufacturing throughout
the production cycle. This includes, but not limited to, creating
testing plans, design handover meetings and solving problems on
manufacturing floor.Education, Experience, and
SkillsRequiredMinimum Education Level: Bachelor'sSpecialized
Degree: Engineering - Mechanical, Elect, Materials,
etc.Certificates: Green Belt Six SigmaYears of Experience: 3+Field

Preferred Skills, Licenses, &Certificates: * Product
development experience. * Experience with manufacturing processes,
fiber cable, wire, and cable. * Experience with the process of
product certification, for example UL, CSA, and others. * Lean Six
Sigma working knowledge is very desirable. * Skill and experience
in statistical analysis. * Skills in SOLIDWORKS or other CAD
software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and
