Location:Villa Rica PlantSouthwire Job DescriptionMaintenance Manager Location: Villa Rica Plant, Villa Rica, Georgia Reports To: Plant Manager Southwire Job Description The Maintenance Manager is directly responsible for implementing and developing predictive and preventative maintenance activities that will ensure equipment and process reliability. Facilitate safe, timely, and efficient high-quality production by providing effective leadership to employees responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment. Maintain equipment in like new condition through a world class preventative maintenance program. Develop key metrics that drive continuous improvement in both staff and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities: Direct employees in installation and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Direct outside contractors in installation of machines and equipment following electrical code, suppliers' recommendations, and blueprints. Guide employees in testing malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance workers to properly diagnose malfunction. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Assess existing equipment and process deficiencies by working with other operation team members, including process engineers, modify equipment and/or processes to achieve desired outcome Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary. Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems Ensures maintenance associates are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that maintenance activities can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner Manages the maintaining of a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of assembly equipment. Manage department work schedule and initiate job assignments at the beginning of the shift(s), and changes during the shift(s) as required. Reviews the operation of assembly equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement. Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities and duties as a key member of the operations team, the following additional responsibilities provide a framework for accomplishing the principle objective. Coordinate, facilitate and motivate employees to their highest potential. Maintain positive attitudes to assure company and customer (internal and external) satisfaction. Provide personal counseling and keep employees informed of policies, procedures and operational changes. Perform reviews, hiring and discipline for subordinates. Responsible for maintaining safety rules and instructing employees on good safety habits. Initiate and attend meetings to ensure continuous improvements in tooling and work habits. Coordinate and guide employee involvement in team building, meetings, projects and company policies and procedures. Consults with Engineering, Quality and Safety to ensure product manufacture ability. Responsible for meeting production and delivery deadlines Introduce latest technological advancements into the organization.Experience and QualificationsExperience and Qualifications Bachelors degree in technical discipline and or equivalent experience preferred. Previous technical supervisory experience demonstrating the ability to manage. Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems with electronic controls. Five years of electrical experience with manufacturing equipment. Five years of mechanical experience with manufacturing equipment. Digital controls troubleshooting experience Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and be able to read specs and prints.
