Support (ACLS), NIHSS Must-Have: Neuro ICU experience, Required
Certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS) Description: The RN Clinical
Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary
team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that
patients, families, and significant others receive individualized
high-quality, safe patient care. This role is supported through a
Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is steered by a
Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and
research. RN competencies are derived from these models and
supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses Critical Care must
be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold nursing practice standards.
They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards
as defined by the relevant professional association. As a member of
the patient services team, the individual must uphold the voice of
the patient, system policies, and procedures, while supporting
service excellence goals. Key Responsibilities: - Perform the
Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of
outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care
using evidence-based practice. - Provide relationship-based
patient-centered care, adapting service delivery to reflect an
understanding of cultural diversity. - Partner with patients and
significant others to keep them updated and focus on their goals in
the plan of care. - Practice using current clinical standards. -
Coordinate safe quality patient care and promote respectful,
inclusive communication among the interdisciplinary team. -
Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration. - Participate in and
support performance improvement initiatives. - Complete all initial
and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory
education. - Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional
nurses and staff. - Promote evidence-based practice and nursing
research. - Uphold all healthcare organizational policies and
procedures. - Participate in data collection and consult experts
for practice questions. - Plan for the care of patients across the
care continuum. - Participate in the development of protocols and
procedures. - Support efficient use of resources in patient care.
Required Minimum Education: Diploma from an accredited nursing
program and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited
school of nursing preferred. Required Minimum Skills: Ability to
read, write, and speak English, optimize the use of technology to
support clinical care, and possess basic computer skills. Strong
interpersonal and customer service skills are required. Ability to
function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in
a composed manner. Possess excellent time management skills and
strong critical thinking skills.
