Roles & Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and Oncology patients, including step-down care for complex cases Assess patients regularly, monitor for changes, and intervene promptly for sickle cell crises and oncology-related complications Administer medications and IV therapies safely and in line with facility protocols and chemotherapy standards (if Chemo-certified) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and support timely discharges Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record and complete required skills checklists and certifications Support unit initiatives for quality improvement, infection control, and patient safety Qualifications Active RN license with Nursys License Verification (required) Minimum 2 years experience in the specialty (Med/Surg/Oncology/Step-down) in a similar-size setting (explicit requirement) Med/Surg and Oncology experience; step-down experience preferred Chemotherapy certification preferred (Chemo-certified nurses strongly encouraged to apply) Complete candidate profile with work history/resume (no gaps greater than 60 days), skills checklist, references, and certification card Badge-appropriate photo and full demographic profile loaded into candidate portal prior to start Knowledge & Skills Clinical expertise in Med/Surg, Oncology, and Step-down patient care Experience managing sickle cell crises and complex oncology diagnoses Safe IV therapy and medication administration practices; chemo administration knowledge is a plus Strong patient assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills Clear, compassionate patient and family education abilities Reliable documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health records Team collaboration and effective communication across disciplines Benefits Supportive travel package designed to make your assignment comfortable and stress-free Licensure assistance & Nursys verification support to get you on shift quickly Medical, Dental & Vision coverage options to keep you and your family healthy Paid Time Off so you can recharge between shifts Life Insurance and benefits resources to protect what matters most Referral bonus program — share the love and get rewarded when your peers join Travel reimbursement and housing support to simplify relocation logistics A collaborative, inclusive team that values your expertise and well-being Travel Perks: Explore Atlanta, GA This is a travel contract in Atlanta — a vibrant city with a ton to explore on your days off.
