Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience required License: Current RN license required Certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS required; CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Trach care - Chest tube management - Peripheral IV starts - Management of vasoactive medications - Monitoring of invasive lines - Management of patients on ventilator support Description: This position involves providing critical care for patients in an Intensive Care Unit. The unit has a total of 14 beds with a normal census of 14 patients. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, renal failure, sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, hypotension, hypertension, stroke, pneumonia, cancer, ARDS, and overdoses. Patients may be chronic ventilator-dependent or have tracheostomies. You will care for hemodynamically unstable patients requiring invasive monitoring and close observation. Patient ratios are typically RN: 1:1-2, with rare instances of 3 patients. Certified Nursing Assistants are available to assist with various duties. The unit has support from a charge nurse, discharge nurses, and other resources. There is a telemetry monitoring team available 24/7. Technology used includes electronic medical records, IV pumps, and vital sign monitors. Floating may occur to other adult ICU units as needed. Weekend rotation includes working 5-6 weekends out of 12 on a 6-week schedule. Holiday expectations involve working one shift for each major holiday.
