Job Description:

ROLE – SPECIALTY First Assistant – Surgical SCHEDULE - Shift: Days - Call: 1 day/week; approximately 1 weekend every 4 weeks REQUIREMENTS - Minimum of 2 years of OR/first-assist experience - Licensure: GA or Compact license in hand at submission - Required certifications: CSFA, NBSTSA or NCCSA - BLS certification required - Experience in Cardiac, Vascular, Endovascular, and Thoracic cases, with preference for heart transplant experience ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist in surgical procedures within the specified specialties, ensuring adherence to safety protocols - Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver optimal patient care - Maintain a sterile environment and assist in the preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments - Provide support during patient assessments and surgical interventions - Document patient care and surgical activities in the electronic medical record COMPLIANCE / NOTES - Privileging completion required before start; expect approximately 120 days from contract signature - Pre-application fee of $125 required for privileging - Time-sensitive submission of core items and compliance documents needed to avoid delay in start date
