As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java based systems. You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: Vue.JS, node.js, REST APIs, Java, Python, JSON, HTML / HTML5, CSS, NoSQL databases, Relational databases, Maven and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure You will: - Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios - Continuously improve software engineering practices - Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies - Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions - Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community - Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity - Lead and/or mentor a team of engineers Capital One is open to hiring a Remote Employee for this opportunity. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply) At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree 7 years of experience in technologies such as: Vue.JS, node.js, Java, REST APIs, JSON, HTML / HTML5, CSS, NoSQL databases, Relational databases, Maven and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure 3 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service 1 years of people management experience 2 years of experience in Agile practices At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Location is New York City - $190,950 and $225,278 for Lead Software Engineer Location is Colorado - $161,847 and $190,943 for Lead Software Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
