Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
practical experience. 8 years of experience in software
development. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership
role. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer
Science or a related technical field. Experience working in a
complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or
cross-business projects. Experience with capacity planning,
automation, or supply chain. Experience with rapid feature
development and refinement over time. Ability to succeed in a
changing environment and be adaptable to evolving responsibilities

are just getting started and as a manager, you guide the way. With
technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across
multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee
the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites
internationally. We build the software that optimizes the planning,
delivery, and management of Google’s global fleet of machines.
Operating at the intersection of abstract compute resources and
physical infrastructure, our systems drive decisions across
billions of dollars of resources for Alphabet (including Cloud,
Search, YouTube, and Android). In this role, you will lead and grow
a team of engineers developing key capacity planning and
optimization capabilities for Alphabet's shared compute fleet. You
will own and provide leadership to projects with the potential to
deliver billions of dollars in efficiency improvements to Google.

problems. The US base salary range for this full-time position is
$207,000-$300,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are
determined by role, level, and location. Within the range,
individual pay is determined by work location and additional
factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant

Responsibilities Lead the evolution of a distributed software
system that plans the Google fleet. Learn and apply Site
Reliability Engineering (SRE) skills. Learn and help land Google
data centers, hardware, networking, and services. Utilize
mathematical optimization to maximize the efficiency of Google
resources. Set and communicate team priorities that support the
broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and
decision-making across teams.
