Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate potential cargo opportunities to ensure alignment to the company's goals, profitability, competitiveness, and being complementary to the vessel capabilities.
Formulate and negotiate ocean freight rates to secure cargo opportunities on the trade in line with the win/loss metrics.
Understand the variable and fixed cost matrix which comprises ocean freight rate levels.
Analyse the freight market to review existing trends and assist to develop new strategies based on supply and demand. Understand the dynamics and market levers of the trade.
Develop and maintain a portfolio of clients on the trade. Foster and deepen relationships with clients.
Develop strategies for vessel planning and utilization.
Analyze and report performance of chartering business to optimise revenue for the company.
Engage with stakeholders, internal and external, to ensure data accuracy and voyage reporting is current and complete.
Support the Chartering team with aspects related to commercial & trade responsibilities within the designated trade team.
