Position:Delivery Driver (Non-CDL)Department:DriversReports to:Store ManagerExemption Status:Non-exemptDate Approved: 3/25/2024EEOC Class:OperativesLocation:StoreRole Summary: As a Delivery Driver you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations and customer sites, ensuring all deliveries are made on time and in good condition. This is a non-CDL position. You will also be expected to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times. Job ResponsibilitiesSafely operate and drive a dump truck in all types of weather conditionsAdhere to all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulationsInspect, maintain, and repair vehicles as requiredLoad and unload product safely and securely, frequently using a forkliftKeep electronic and/or paper vehicle logs and records of cargo as required by law or requested by companyComplete paperwork accurately and timelyPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicleReport any mechanical or other problems with the vehicle to the Store Manager, troubleshoot minor problemsFollow delivery instructions and delivery schedules from ManagementEnsure all product deliveries are signed for and proof of delivery is turned in at the end of each dayUtilize GPS navigation, paper maps, road signs and other navigational itemsUnderstand the product and item numbers to not deliver incorrect items or quantitiesCommunicate any problems or delays to Store ManagerMaintain a courteous and professional attitude when interacting with customersProvide prompt, courteous customer serviceMaintain company vehicles which includes keeping it clean, knowing when the maintenance is due and notifying proper people when maintenance is requiredFueling and unloading truck at the end of each day so it is ready for the next dayMaintain receipts pertaining to fuel purchases made on the company fuel cardOther duties as assigned, which may include - stocking, order entry, shipping/receiving, etc.Operate with FORTITUDE: Fun, Optimism, Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Trust, Unity, Drive, and Empowerment Minimum Job QualificationsValid driver's licenseClean driving recordAbility to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Report checkKnowledge of local roads and traffic lawsAdherence to safety standardsAbility to work with a team of other driversAbility to work in different weather conditionsAbility to maintain a professional appearanceAbility to follow directions from supervisor or dispatcherAbility to lift and move heavy objectsExcellent customer service skillsForklift experience is a plus Other Skills and AbilitiesPHYSICAL DEMANDS Constantly sitting, seeing, using hands and feet, while driving a motorized vehicleFrequently required to talk,see, and hearAble to occasionally lift 60 lbs. and lift 45 lbs. repeatedlyOccasional stooping, bending, walkingAble to climb up to and down from the bed of the truck and truck cabAble to access engine compartment and crawl under vehicle for safety inspections WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is primarily performed inside a truck but may require some time outside in the elements when securing a load or performing pre- and post-trip inspections or assisting in yard. Employee will encounter weather when driving and working in the yard, which may include rain, snow, sleet, a wide range of temperatures from very cold to very hot.
